Mainstage Play Selection 2017-2018

It's time to start the selection process for our 2017-2018 season. If you are interested in submitting to direct for our next main stage season, please read the information below, and contact the office at 734.971.2228 or with any questions. All documents required for submission may be found at the bottom of this page.

Ann Arbor Civic Theatre is currently seeking directors for its 2017-18 Main Stage season. Civic produces six main stage productions--musicals and non-musicals--each season. A2CT invites directors to submit to direct a play or musical of their choice; in particular the selection committee encourages recognizable titles with six or more characters. For 2017-2018, A2CT is seeking at least one classic musical, and one classic non-musical for inclusion in our season. In addition, A2CT is committed to reflecting the diversity of our community, and encourages proposals that acknowledge the diversity present throughout southeast Michigan, in cast and/or crew. A2CT will also assist potential directors who want to direct but need ideas for shows.

All directors interested in A2CT’s next season should submit an application which includes a resume, references, and short summary of the show, as well as the director’s vision for the production for up to three titles. The deadline for submissions is 4pm Wednesday, November 9.

The play selection committee will hold director interviews January 28, 2017. The ’17-18 season and directors will be chosen by mid-February, 2017 .
